FREQUENTLY ASKED
What services do you offer? We offer Sports Massage delivered through the lens of Jake’s ongoing studies in osteopathy.
How many appointments will I need? There isn't a set number.
It depends on what's happening, how long it has been going on and what you're hoping to get
back to doing.
After assessing you, we'll explain what we think is likely to be useful and why. And if we don't think
you need another appointment, we'll tell you
Do I need a sports massage?Sports massage is not only for athletes. It focuses on the restoration of function through manual therapy, joint mobilisation, and assisted stretching.
If your complaint is somatic there is a good chance that sports massage could be beneficial to you.
Do I need to stop exercising if something hurts? Not necessarily. Pain doesn't automatically mean you need to stop moving completely. What is appropriate depends on what you're experiencing and how your symptoms behave.
What if you can't help? We'll tell you.
Sometimes another practitioner, your GP or another healthcare service will be better placed to
help.
Where that's the case, we'll explain why and, where possible, help point you in the right direction
What should I wear?Wear something you feel comfortable moving in.
Depending on what we're assessing, Jake may ask whether you're comfortable removing or
adjusting some clothing so he can properly examine the area. This will always be discussed with
you first. Underwear or sportswear that allows access to the back is useful.
